Behavioralstandard
Tell me about a time you launched something quickly and then had to fix it.
How to approach it
Show that shipping fast was a deliberate trade-off with a plan for watching what broke, not luck.
How a strong answer opens
“We launched a new checkout two weeks early to catch the holiday season, knowingly leaving out saved addresses and some error handling. I'll explain how we watched it and what broke.”
Outline of a strong answer
Try answering out loud for a few minutes before you open this.
- Why speed mattered, such as a competitor or a seasonal window
- What you shipped and what you knowingly left out
- How you monitored the launch
- What broke and how fast you fixed it
- Whether the trade-off was worth it and what you would change
Where this question usually goes wrong
Presenting the speed as luck or the bugs as surprises, instead of a deliberate trade-off with a plan for watching what broke.
