Why drills
A full practice answer takes 30 minutes and exercises everything at once. If your weakness is the first three minutes, you get one rep of the thing you need and 27 minutes of things you don't. Drills isolate a single skill so you can do ten reps in the time one full answer takes.
Use this lesson after grading with the self-grading rubric. Find your lowest dimension, or a symptom you keep hearing in your recordings, and run the matching drill for 15 to 20 minutes before your next full answer. Each drill lists:
- Symptom: what you hear in your recording.
- Drill: what to do.
- Reps: how much, roughly.
- Done when: a test you can check, so you know when to stop.
Use prompts from the question bank. Drills burn through prompts quickly, so it's fine to reuse prompts for drills that only cover the opening.
