What interviewers are really asking
Questions about working with engineers come in several disguises: "Tell me about a time you disagreed with an engineer." "Engineering says your feature will take six months. What do you do?" "How do you decide when to ship?" Underneath, they all test the same thing: do you understand how software actually gets built, and will engineers want to work with you?
